Blue Chip Technology have successfully achieved certification of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management standard after being assessed by the BSI and meeting the necessary requirements detailed within.
The ISO 9001 standard is designed to help businesses consistently improve the quality of their services and products and to ensure customer’s requirements are being met. This gives businesses at every point in the supply chain the confidence they need to carry out their activities effectively. ISO 9001:2015 is the latest revision of the Quality Management standard and an update of the ISO 9001:2008 revision. The most significant changes seen in this latest revision relate to risks and opportunities, the involvement of senior management and a better understanding of the context of the organisation (e.g. the potential impact external issues can have on strategic objectives).
The benefits to our customers are widespread; from improved customer service and product quality to reduced risk throughout a project’s lifecycle. We have put in place additional company-wide measures to help us better identify and mitigate risks with the aim of being preventative, not reactive, as well as a number of other processes and initiatives.
Dan Sherwen, Quality and Organisational Improvement Manager at Blue Chip Technology, led the efforts towards certification with support from individuals across the business. He provided the following comment:
“I was delighted when BSI confirmed our successful transition to ISO9001:2015. It’s great to know that our customers, suppliers and colleagues are already experiencing the benefits that this new standard provides. This has been company-wide effort with many of my colleagues providing input and insight, with support and commitment from our Leadership Team. A team approach has been instrumental in Blue Chip Technology’s smooth transition to the latest ISO9001 standard.”
Blue Chip Technology were first certified for ISO 9001 in 1996 and for over 20 years we have been continually improving our internal processes in order to raise the quality of our customer service and our products. We are audited every six months against the standard and re-certified every three years, meaning the certification and what it represents always remains current and relevant.
